Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, weeks have passed and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence—while the Florentines will go to great lengths to see them dead.
But Marcello patiently awaits, and Gabi must decide if she’s willing to leave her family behind for good in order to give her heart to him forever.
Second book in the River of Time series and I AM SO IN LOVE. Who knew that a casual recommendation from a friend (thank you, Carrie!!) would turn into one of my very most favorite series EVER? I sure didn't! Holy cow, I'm super super happy that she mentioned Waterfall that one time.
We're back in medieval Italy (swoon) with the usual suspects: Marcello (swoon), Luca (swoon), and Lord Greco (SWOON). Okay, so Lord Greco didn't make an appearance in Waterfall. But he could have. And I would have swooned hard. Love me those hot Italian men.
The Betarrini sisters are back too, and better than ever. They're ready to leave their mark on history, and oh, how they do it! I love that they're strong and not afraid to fight for what they believe is right and for those they love. I'd totally be BFFs with them.
I love this story so hard. Seriously. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi (time travel) and when it involves romance too? You get a book made all of win. This story is so well crafted that it will stand my test of time and become one that I read over and over. It's already got a place on my most favorites shelf. It's fast become a comfort series. Love, love, love.
I totally realize that this has descended into a gush-fest, but there are just some books that are worth it.
