From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.
Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.
Talk about an edge-of-your-seat read here. I was sucked in from the first page and the ride never let up. In a word, it was awesome.
I've read a lot of dystopia lately, some good, some great, and some not-so-good. I'm glad that Legend falls into the great category for me.
Of the two main characters, Day is by far my favorite. He was someone I'd picture as my brother, always looking out for me. Someone who would be my friend through thick and thin. I really liked his loyalty. That really speaks to me in a character.
June was okay for me. I didn't love her, but I did like her. I liked her even more at the end, and I can't wait to see what happens in Prodigy. I think she still has a lot of growing up to do and I look forward to seeing her work through the things she needs to.
Loved the story and loved the set up. This is weird, because an alternating, first person POV usually drives me nuts. In fact, I just wrote another review where it nearly made me lay the book aside. This time, it works. Completely works. It's helpful that the fonts are different and the speaker is identified at the beginning of each chapter. The color of ink is even different, though not jarring. It helped me to keep track of which MC was speaking and it totally worked for me.
If you're looking for a fast-paced read, this is it. It's totally a 'pick me' book.
