This week's question:
Q: Have you ever had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke-up" with later on in either the series or stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
Well, yes.
Sadly, it was Edward Cullen for me. I've seen him mentioned a couple of times already on this hop, and I think it's for good reason. At first, I fully admit that I got caught up in the 'oh, Edward is sooooo hot' hype. And physically, yes, he was hot. (well, if you could handle 800 million mentions of his marble-like skin. That drove me NUTS after awhile, even when I loved the books)
But then as time wore on and I got into other types of books, I realized that Edward is a seriously freaky stalker-type guy. I mean, he watched his future dinner spouse while she slept!!! FREAK! Plus, he was so controlling and possessive. Another guy looks at Bella? Pretty sure he'd have tried to kill them. Ugh. No thanks. Plus, I went through something similar myself (without the vampire part and I'm pretty sure he didn't want to kill me. Just own me.) and it was pure hell. I can't imagine putting myself through that ON PURPOSE (stupid Bella).
Edward and I broke up between New Moon and Eclipse and weren't on speaking terms at all by Breaking Dawn. It wasn't long after starting BD that I started hating the franchise period. Now? I'm as anti-Twilight as I ever was for it (for more reasons than just freaky stalker creeper Edward).
Who would you pick?
